We had a long, busy, but fun weekend. :) I took the kids (Alex and Kayla) to Galveston on Saturday to celebrate Alex's birthday which was on the 7th, and had a blast. I didn't take any pictures because I was afraid of ruining my phone!! Then we got home and he opened his presents and did the cake and ice cream thing. He got a lot of school clothes and some nerf guns. He loves those things!! Oh yeah, and a new skateboard. Here are some pics:
The kiddos and some of their friends decided last week that they wanted to build a clubhouse, so we sat down with them on Thrusday night and roughed out a plan and the cost. They had to come up with half - $100 - and Paul and I would front the other half. Friday they got to work! They washed my car, Paul's truck, and walked the dog. Alex threw in his birthday money and he and Kayla and a couple of the other kids put in their allowances. Then, they attempted to have a garage sale, had a lemonade stand and washed a few of the other neighbors cars, and by 8:00pm, they had their $100. I was surprised and proud of how hard they worked to earn the money. Paul went Sunday morning to get the supplies and we got to work. Here's a couple in progress pics - we aren't finished yet....the base is in place in the backyard, the roof is assembled and back there too. We also put up the corner posts....I don't have pics of all of that yet...I'll take some more and post them later...
The kiddos went to church camp last Wednesday and made capes, I don't know why...but here's a couple pics of Kayla showing off her cape.
