Good morning

Actually, its a pretty great morning. I walked into Jacob's room this morning and he was halfway awake. He looked at me for a little bit while I talked to him and he held my finger and then he fell asleep. So cute.

The doctors just did their rounds, and I mean doctorsssss-there is like 12 of them...lol. They said he is looking very good. Overnight they removed the IV in his foot, and put one in his right wrist instead. He is on room air now, and his blood pressure has started to come down; still a little elevated, but its making its way back to normal.

Dr. Morales, his surgeon, was with the herd today when they did the rounds, so I was able to talk to him for a couple of minutes and thank him for everything. He said Jacob did very well, and continues to do well. He is a really great surgeon, and has the ability to talk to people too...some surgeons lack that quality, but he is always calm and patient when answering questions and always explains them in a manner that you understand everything he is saying. Great doctor!!

After they did their rounds Jacob woke up and was fussing a little because he was hungry, but they were going to remove his pacing wires and one of his chest tubes so he couldn't eat anything. Poor guy was not too happy about that. We gave him some sugar water and held him off until the doctor came to remove the tube and wires. It only took a couple of minutes. They gave him some more morphine while they did it, and he passed out after they finished up with that. He has to wait to have a chest x-ray, then he can eat.

Long busy morning, but good. They will also be removing his central line today (the one in his neck) and he will be moved downstairs at some point today. Still no idea when though.

Here's a couple of good morning pictures from the ICU (he is covered up.)
