We are taking a break and sitting down in the CVICU waiting room while Jacob is sleeping so I can post some more pictures and put a decent update on here. He continues to do really well. Like I said he is taking a nap right now. He was awake for a little while, not too long ago. It was so good to see his eyes. No smile yet, but maybe soon. :)
They removed the catheter and his arterial line this morning. He still has his chest tubes, main line, pic line and pacing wires in place. He also still has the monitors pads on his torso and the oxygen in his nose. They are slowly weaning him off the oxygen, his saturation levels are very good, between 98-100, so hopefully that will be gone sometime soon.
They will be leaving all the other lines in place for now because he will be staying in ICU for the day, and won't be moved down to "the floor," a private room on the 15th floor, until tomorrow morning most likely. His breathing his shallow at times so they just want to monitor that.
He is allowed to have some formula and some baby food, and will get his baby food when he wakes up from his nap. Otherwise he continues to improve!
