Surgical update #3 and Final Surgical Update

They buzzed us about 1:25 for the third update. They said they were done and were cleaning him up and preparing to move him to the ICU. He was off the machine and looking good. They said the surgeon would be down in about an hour to speak with us because he had another appointment.

Then, five minutes after we left the consultation room, they buzzed us again and said the surgeon would be done in a few minutes to speak to us. He came dow nand told us that he did very well. They closed the VSD and an ASD (a hole between his left and right atrium, which alone wouldn't have needed surgery, but they closed it since they were in there anyways), and have already removed the breathing tube! :)

The surgeon said that there was more flow across the hole than they thought and that his heart was actually more enlarged as well, and said that it was good that we had decided to get this done now instead of waiting.

Now we are just waiting to go up and see him here in the next 30 minutes or so. :)
